✨ Weekly Updates for April 21, 2025
How in the world is it April 21?!? I genuinely don’t have a clue where this month has gone, aside from a ton of development work on Solo School ;) and a library book I’ve still barely started that is due back Saturday. Wish me luck.
In any case, next week is our LAST WEEK of semester break. There will be a few schedule changes over the next two weeks as we prep and wind back up. For example, Amy is in office this week as we’ll be using her May 1 slot for the certification program graduation.
Also, the certification program graduation!!!
Next Thursday at 10am Pacific, our certification program graduates will be coming together to celebrate the completion of their program, and everyone is invited to come and witness their accomplishment! Details are in the community calendar (here.)
I’m uploading, simplifying, reshaping, and creating some new materials this week, so watch for those. You can also just wait and watch the announcements section next week for the bulk of them, though there are some details there this week as well!
Looking forward to getting back into community with all of you, catching up, and hitting the ground running with our semester projects.
See you soon!
- Cheryl
🚨Announcements and Reminders
Some updates are coming for Solo School!
In the spirit of communication, I’m providing you a short list of updates coming over the next 2-3 weeks so that you can prepare. Each of these updates will come with a short Loom video explanation and tutorial, so fear not, I’ll hold your hand all the way through!
We’re simplifying our course organization. While it is amazing to have such a huge library of resources, it’s pretty tricky to actually find the one you need, let alone the linear path, with the way things are organized currently. So, we’re moving all of the current courses into an “Archive” category (where they will all still be available!) and shifting the core curriculum into individual courses that align with the stages of business.
If you’re still ideating and planning, there’s a linear course to take you through that.
If you’re validating and getting your first five sales, there’s a linear course to take you through that.
If you’re building a repeatable sales system, there’s a linear course to take you through that.
If you’re scaling, there’s a linear course to take you through that.
These courses will track completion based on your OUTCOMES, not on your consumption of our materials, so we’ll be able to better track student business progress, and YOU will be able to better understand where you stand, your current actions, your next steps, etc.
That restructuring is taking place now and will be opened to the community shortly. An assessment will be released allowing you to determine which stage you belong in, and we’ll assign you to that course so you can begin your journey!
We’re enriching our community! We’ve heard you. The asynchronous community as it stands now is a bit of a yawn. Not to mention that since wanting to depart from our dearly beloved FB, our community there has been left in limbo.
We’re integrating Discourse into Moodle, to host a proper, fully functioning community forum here!
You’ll be able to be in community and discussion with everyone in one place, including our free community members, our Solo School students, and even your peers in the same stage of business as you. We’re also working on a content schedule to start driving more engagement through those forums as well.
We’re looking to feature students! Both on our blog and podcast, of course, but also here in our members’ newsletter. I’d like to start featuring contributions from students sharing wins, or thought leadership pieces they want to share with our community, right here in this weekly newsletter. So if you have a win to share, or you have an article you’d like us to publish for you here that you think would benefit your fellow students, please let me know! I’ll be creating some editorial guidelines and submission processes for this during the week.
There’s more to come, but those are the most important (based on the frequency of requests) that we have. Watch next week’s announcements for further details!
